1. Complete your E-Verify, including your I9 and W4 verification.

Once both steps are complete and approved, you’ll be fully enrolled and your first payment processed.

The easiest way to think about it is like a very small part-time role — not for income, but to access group benefits.

You’ll complete:

These are federally required for all U.S. employers to verify work eligibility. 

In most cases, you should leave additional income, dependents, and extra withholding sections blank unless directed otherwise by your personal tax advisor.

It is tied to your associate classification and does not create job responsibilities. 

Yes. You pay 100% of the cost of the benefits you selected. 

Your total cost (shown on your enrollment summary page) includes: 

• The benefit plan cost 
• Applicable payroll taxes 
• Administrative fees 
• Your Associate “salary” (required for payroll structure) 

Payments are collected semi-monthly (typically on the 1st and 15th) through payroll. 

Because you are enrolling in employer-sponsored benefits, payroll is required to properly administer: 

• Section 125 pre-tax benefits 
• Tax reporting 
• Withholding requirements 

Nearly all of the payroll amount goes toward your benefits. As a result, your net paycheck will be very small — and that is completely expected. 

If you chose to pay by credit card, a 3% processing fee applies. 

Yes. At the end of the year, you’ll receive a W-2 from 1099 Workers. 

It will reflect: 

• Payments made toward your Section 125 benefits 
• Your negligible net salary 

Simply include it with your other tax documents when filing your annual return.
